New Kent Heritage
New Kent, one of the oldest and most charming counties in Virginia, has a history dating back almost 400 years. It is home to some of Virginia's great historic landmarks including St Peter's Church and the "old" New Kent Courthouse.
Today New Kent retains the appeal of a small town even as it emerges as one of the state's fastest growing counties. In May, 2019 the County chartered a Strategic Plan Steering Committee to work with local officials to develop a 20 year plan intended to provide a long-term vision to help the County grow without sacrificing its overall character and quality of life its citizens enjoy.
